Anybody traded a Speed Triple for a Street Triple ?

I'd be interestd to hear if anyone has changed. I have a 2003 S3 with hi-level carbon can and power commander and 17T front sprocket. The bike goes really well and is lots of fun. I've been lusting after the 2080 S3 in black but maybe the Street,being lighter and more revvy,might be a different type of ride ? A mate has just took delivery of a white Street Triple with full Arrow system and we're riding tomorrow so I will be interested to see what he thinks.

I can guarantee it will be a different kind of ride. In what ways, that I still can't say, not having received my Street yet.

I didn't trade directly. I actually sold my '05 Speed this summer in anticipation of getting the new Tiger, since the taxes around here pretty much preclude owning as many bikes as I'd like to have. I really hate that, because I loved the S3. Then after I sold it, the Street came along and changed all my plans again. Would love to describe the differences in some detail, but that's not possible... yet.

We rode 200 miles on country roads in Wales last Sunday. I was actually on my Tiger but my friend with his brand new Street Triple was very happy with the handling and surprising amount of torque. Mind you he has changed from a VFR 800 so you could expect his delight. I will wait until spring and have a test ride when the roads are in good condition. My gut feeling is that I will want the grunt and presence of the Speed Triple,but we shall see.
