I'm Still in Shock...!

So I place an order for a black Street Triple on September 29, after going back and forth -- black? green? black? green? Get the note from Atlanta that delivery will be in January.

So what's sitting in the garage tonight?

The short story is that the buyer decided to wait until spring to take delivery of their bike, I saw it, suddenly understood why people ordered white Streets, and snapped it up.

I'm really tired, having driven up and down Manhattan and then over to Brooklyn for dinner with a friend and back. But it's love. I have never ridden anything this fun and fantastic. I'd also planned to get fly screen, belly pan, seat cowl -- but the naked white REALLY looks good to me. And my friend -- she's amazed at my taste.

White doesn't photograph well (especially with a cell phone camera), but all I can say is that it's so much better looking in person.

To bed!

Thanks, folks!

I'm looking forward to getting those first 200 miles in this weekend. Sunday looks like it's going to be a great day (sunny, mid-50s), and I plan to take the bike north onto the Hudson River secondary routes (9 and 9W). The roads are pretty easy-going, there are magnificent Hudson river views, some fun twists and turns, and Leona Helmsley's mausoleum in Sleepy Hollow ().

Today, though -- we're supposed to get some of the exhaust from (former) Hurricane Noel, so it's looking more like a house-chore kind of day.

More later....

Welcome to the dark side... You will soon start to realise that a white Triumph, especially when ridden with a white helmet and an official looking jacket strikes fear and awe into the rest of the mobile world. Its worth 10mph and a second of safety anywhere. Well done sir.
Got myself a white tiger and its awesome to see the traffic part in fear.
Like a pike in a trout pool.... HeHeHe....
Love it..... you will to.

Well done, when I first saw that colour in the dealers I wanted one, Triumph white is very impressive.

Yes! Like a great white at a Long Island beach party. I THOUGHT I noticed people fleeing in terror this afternoon.

Not mine -- I run a clean ship.

Actually, there really isn't that much white on a stark-nekkid triple. There's the front fender, the tank, and the rear seat trim. Easy as pie.

It's all the BLACK on the bike that's going to be difficult to keep clean.
