"Good News" relative to what?

Was at my Triumph dealer this p.m. New rear rubber to be fitted onto my Rocket III and a few minor Rocket-related maintenance topics.

Anyway:

The dealer principal's "good news" to me, after an unusually formal and thus... er.. vagulely ominous "let's- sit- down- and- have- a- cup- of- coffee- Mr Jamie- please" invite, was that my white Street is STILL due on week #45.

The way he staged the whole announcement, amidst Friday afternoon showroom lurkers and catalogue pickers, was as if, thanks to a divine intervention, I had been granted the privilege of an ADVANCED delivery date.

I'm still unable to shake a response from Triumph USA. My dealer "guesses" another 10-14 days, but that's not based on any hard information.

I ordered 7th July!

I get the impression that a lot of dealers are feeling pretty defensive over the delays.

Not surprising really. And it's hardly their fault that they told us delivery times given by the factory, which then slipped dramatically.
