An Odd Comparo Now !

French weekly Moto-revue pitting the 675 Street agains the 1050 Speed ( 2007 issue). And the Street WINS with 15.5 points versus 15.4 .

This time around, the decisive factor in the mag's scoring system (which I described in an earlier post) is "budget". Another far more surprising (at least to me) Street advantage is "two-up riding", the Speed getting a godawful rating (?)

This being said, the Speed obviously won all HP/Torque measurements. Jamie

Not to mention that Fast Bikes November issue pitted the Daytona 675 against the Street and the Street won (as a better everyday bike that had the ability to cater for nutters too)!

The thing for me is the bargain price of the street, who needs a speed triple anyway?

I am dying to see the Street Triple in BIKE magazine against an FZ6, Hornet and Ducati 695.

Speed Triple guy here, checking in to see what's up with the Street. Like your bike lots. IF both had been available when I bought my Speed Thing, which would I have chosen? Tough call... if your seat is more spacious -- YES -- if I were buying it primarily for comfortable canyon racing -- YES -- but... I like the easy-going monster feel of the 1050, too. And I like the combo of long distance riding on a Canyon capable bike. I gotta ride one and see. Can't wait!

I've got a Speedy. I'd have considered the Street when I bought, but it wasn't out yet. That, and the fact that I was born with testicles, kinda eliminated Streety!

:

Just kiddin' ya, of course. Speedy only works two-up if your passenger has legs less than say, two feet long. Just not the kind of bike you ride two-up. I would like to give up the extra 50lbs Speedy's carrying around, but losing all that lovely torque would be a hard pill to swallow. I'm guessing the Street'll be faster round most tracks though.

Considering the Supersport guys are the Squid Squadron, Sensible Nutters sounds like a pretty good follow on. Well done!

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.
