OH NO - Delayed delivery

I thought I better check on the delivery of my bike - and was told it won't be in 4 weeks time as expected, it will be February

Apparently, the factory can only build 150 a month & have been getting 100 new orders a week.

I'm halfway down the list of bikes left to deliver, so anyone who ordered after 5 September will be even further down the list than me

Also, the number of orders is slowing, probably becuase the waiting time is putting people off & they are buying other bikes instead.

Not happy : :

Looks like I'll be waiting until next summer to ride one!

I ordered on 5 September from OnYerTriumph in Bucks. They ordered it while I was there and was given a mid-November delivery date by the factory.

I spoke to OYT again today, which is when they decided to give me the good news.

And to make it worse, I gave them my Sprint that day as p/ex. Someone I know bought it without knowing it used to be mine & he has just gone on a trip to France on it while I am left for 6 months with just my bonnie to keep me going :

At least I won't be running the Street3 in during the winter ... trying very hard to look on the bright side

Well maybe I will get lucky.

I ordered mine on the 18th August and can only assument that I am further up the queue than some other guys on this forum.

Like you, I traded my SV the same day so I've been bike-less since that day. Very frustrating. I should have bought a crap bike that nobody wanted!

Street triple delays

I ordered my Street triple Jet Black on the 9/11/07, was informed by the dealer last week i was No 6 of 67 for February's production run, so i will be picking it up 01/03/08, gutted....but at least they are going to honour the P/x value on my exisiting bike, which i still got, refused to hand it over so they could move it on. Apparently the fusion whites are delayed until march/april, and the roulette green your looking at a May delivery.

I ordered mine on 18th August and it will be 20 out of 49? I was first told a delivery date of 10th October, now end of October/ start November. I traded in my 05 reg gixer and they sold it on in 4 days! so been bike less since. I won't wait any longer than start of Nov, I'll go and buy another GSXR.

How did you find the Street3 compared to the Gixxer ? I'm assuming you had a 600 or 750 ?

Wink Triumph sales department

Hi all,

Been looking on this site for a couple of weeks before taking the plunge and registering.
I ordered my bike on 24th August (straight after a test ride), and was originally told delivery would be end of Sep - beginning of Oct. The dealer told me last week that delivery had been put back and would now be in November, so after reading some of the posts here and on 675.net I decided to ring Triumph sales department this morning to see if they could be more specific. They were very helpful and informed me that my bike is going to be built the second week (13th in a batch of 46), in November and delivery would before the end of November.
It's worth a call to put your mind at rest.

Adam.

I had a 600K1 and then the 600K5 and they were fantastic bikes, I rode the K1 to the TT 2 years on the trot and it was superb around the island. Then got the K5 which was also fab, in May I did 2.3k miles around france in 6 days and only had a bit of a numb bum on long motorway stints. The street seamed a bit odd with the sit up and beg riding position, but soon got used to that, wind blast was quite strong but thats one of the reasons I ordered a street to ride a bit slower. I had to use 4 fingers on the brakes instead of 2 to get it to slowdown quickly. Suspension seemed about the same to me. I found the speedo really hard to read at a quick glance and it was a problem in sunlight glinting off the chrome bars. The engine was great lots more low and midrange power and a usefull topend rush. The sound of the triple motor is fantastic. The size of the bike suits me as well as I'm small and light and should be able to hussle it along just as quick as the gixer if needs be. I really loved my gixer and even when i was signing the paperwork i wasn't sure if i was doing the right thing, but some wise words and enthusiasum from my dad ensured I signed on the dotted line. I'm now fed up with waiting as it's gone beond the expected delivery date and no one seems to know when it will turn up!!, they have until 1st November if not I'll get a Suzuki gsxr 600K7
