Would you buy the Street Triple if you had to pay £6600? Would it still be a great value for money?

That's how much it costs where I live. Some other prices:
Z750 - £5300
Z1000 - £7050
Shiver - £5700
Tuono R - £8570
Speed Triple - £8570, same as Tuono
Street Triple - £6600

Personally speaking...yes....and we are talking about the speed and not the street right? The Speed is my dream bike, ive ridding a few and love it to death. I happen to be getting a Street though due to the fact that I don't want to jump on a liter bike for my first street fairing bike out of the box.

In US dollars you're talking just over $13,400. After prep and sales tax I'm looking at a little over $9400. That's a huge difference. Does your price includes the dreaded value added tax?

You are likely to get substantial year-end discounts on both Kawasaki's ('08 model year changes and '07 dealer inventory to move ) and on the Tuono (sales are reportedly dwindling, many folks apparently taking their "sport VTwin roadster" business to KTM). Triumph might (just might) also offer a symbolic price cut on the 1050 Speed Triple to clear dealer showrooms for the improved '08 version(which I described earlier on here and which looks magnificent, BTW). As far as "our" 675 Street is concerned, I suppose its price can only go UP as availability is shrinking. In fact, I heard of March or April '08 deliveries in France for orders entered at the Paris show, i.e. right now.

Another phenomenon that could develop is that some dealers might be tempted to load their --scarce-- inventory units up with accessories, carbon fiber parts, custom paint jobs, etc. and charge a fortune over list price.

Bottom line? I would order one without any further ado. Jamie

Right now, I can get any of the following at these off-the-lot, on-the-road prices:

2008 Triumph Street Triple -- US$8,500
2007 Triumph Speed Triple -- US$9,170
2007 Aprilia Tuono R -- US$10,325

That US$670 (£328) difference between the Street and Speed is hard to get over ... but I'm trying!

No way would i pay that, if it had radial brakes and fully adjustable suspension and came with a screen and seat cowl I would though.

Who needs the extra ccs? Really? OK, I am a committed supersport squid, so take my opinions for what they are worth. Not a whole lot!

Shame there's so little difference in price between the slow selling (Midwest) Speed and the Street. Now if they could only get the bikes to the dealers. I have a hard time coughing up 8k for the Street becuase of the "Budget" features. Even though it's a nice bike and I think it has all I need, I'm gonna wait until the huppla dies down and the fussy US market leaves 'em sitting in show rooms.
