Unhappy Delivery Postponed!

My white until was due early next month. It has just been rescheduled to early November. Two reasons given: Overwhelminly long order board at the factory and the white finish itsef... which seems to be extremely popular. Had I agreed to switch to roulette green, I would have received it next week.

But what a diffrence a month makes?

The irony is that MY white-painted accessories, i.e. flyscreen, belly pan and seat cowl shipped last week from the factory!

Another news: On second thoughts, I'll fit TOR cans on it. One local customer (he must be the 2nd or 3rd one in Switzerland) is selling his TOR's, to replace them with an Arrow pipe. And I'll buy them.

Regards to all. Jamie

When did you place your order?
I placed mine on 9/4 and initially was told "end of October". Then I got the email from Triumph NA saying November.
I ordered a black one.

I guess they've found the bike to be more popular than they expected. I've been halfway expecting one of the infamous "November notices" myself, since I waited until after the first of August to order. My confirmation e-mail did contain disclaimers about possible delays, especially based on color choice, but so far so good.

White must be especially popular, Jamie. I would have prefered scorched yellow, but it certainly looks good in any of the three colors offered this year. I had only one big reservation about white, and that's because the normal pipe discoloration shows more prominently with it. However, white does highlight the lines of the bike a little better in a variety of lighting conditions, I think, and it may enable me to put a Union flag design on at least the flyscreen, and/or perhaps the tank.

My order dates back to early Sep., r000t. But, in hindsight, it appears that Triumph and its dealers had already harvested many orders, certainly more than they actually REALIZED, during AUGUST (i.e. when Western Europeans are enjoying their summer holidays and many --if not most-- local Triumph dealers actually shut their operations down for a couple of weeks, suggesting that customer orders and communications about them did not all flow back to the factory in a gradual or timely fashion)

Although I am not at all privy to Triumph's scheduling process, it seems to me that the unexpectedly high August order backlog in question is what the factory is currently focusing on. Some (I dunno how many) Sep. orders are thus being posponed to November. I don't even wanna know what's the estimated ship date for October orders!!!

Triumph, BTW, thinks in WEEKS. My white unit is now part of week # 45 (out of of a finite 52!!!) contingent, meaning first week of November... And color preferences might (just might) be at odds with Triumph's forecasts.

I'll be patient. Suggest we all be. But if someone from Hinckley wishes to comment/correct/reassure, he is MOST WELCOME

Jamie

Smile

Hello guys. I ordered my green Street Triple 3 weeks ago and was told it would be late october/early november, but was over the moon to receive a call on Wednesday this week to say it was ready for collection from my dealer. Happy Days! I am now the proud owner of one lovely shiny new Streetie, and am currently drooling over accessory choice. Hope you get yours soon, all I can say is it will be worth the wait, I promise!

Congrats! and welcome here Manx.

Most of us will still be comparing notes about accessories and... you'll be off riding YOUR bike. Aaargh! (smile)

But your post tends to confirm one of my earlier messages here, doesn't it: That is, if you badly want a Street Triple and you badly want it SOON, then you'd better off badly wanting it in roulette green (smile)

Roulette green with envy. Jamie

I can only imagine the backlog on orders bound for the States if European orders are slipping. This could be a longer winter than usual.

Surprisingly my UK dealer was unable to give me any more info than some time in early october while a Swiss dealer names a specific week (maybe it's to do with truck deliveries / containers????).

Whatever the reason I'm perfectly happy to wait (for now)! ;-)
