Street v Shiver - The comparison I'd like to see

I've seen some you-tube footage of the Aprilia Shiver and it sounded rough and rattley (not that it is really fair to compare bikes based on videos from you-tube)....

I also looked at specs and it would appear that the Shiver is:

Heavier (189kg to 167kg)
Slower (130mph to 140mph)
Less powerful (95bhp to 107bhp)
Taller at the seat (810mm to 800mm) and....
Has a smaller tank (15 to 17.4 litres) and the list goes on!

Forgetting the fact that both manufacturers could tweek each model to get more from it in the future what I'd like to see is a review by someone that has ridden both. The raptors and rockets site had a few comparitive comments but not that much and the Shiver didn't appear in the recent UK group test.

If anyone sees such a review or has ridden both bikes and wishes to post a review I would be really pleased to read it.

Have not seen any such direct comparo yet in the European press. What I have read is unanimous praise for the Street Triple.

The Shiver, by way of contrast, has elicited much scepticism ("high on technology but low on personality"... or... "not bad but bland"... etc.). One European weekly (not an Italian one!!!) even suggested that the Shiver, some elements af it, at least, be taken back to the drawing board.

And it seems to me that Aprilia might indeed be fine tuning the Shiver before shipping it to its dealers. Jamie

Just accidentally found a comparo, in the current (I think) issue of french monthly "L'Intégral". And the Street Triple WINS by a long shot. Jamie
