Unless I'm planning to add loads of carbon parts the carbon tank pad seems a bit uneccesary and if it is the same price as for the Speed Triple then £30 seems a bit much (sorry if I offended anyone with that remark).

I also am a little concerned that the front mudguard is a bit short leaving the pipes and rad very exposed. My SV had a plastic black extender piece fitted by the dealer when I got it and I thought of adding the same to the Street.

Then there's the ever critical crash bungs which I think must be fitted sooner rather than later.

So I wondered if any other people had any opinions on these accessories. Bear in mind that I rode my SV pretty much all year round even if I only really enjoyed summer riding. I want to keep my new bike in good nick for as long as possible but I don't want to turn it into a CB500 commuter bike! ;-)

Not planning to add any bits for a while myself, I may not be the best one to advise you... but I tend to agree that the tank protector is probably not worth the bother unless you're planning to ride this one awfully agressively and will be adding other carbon parts for personal aesthetic reasons.

As for the front mudguard, it looks to be in proportion to the one on my Speed Triple, which was always adequate for protecting the radiator. The pipes were always pretty much on their own, and will be with any mudguard unless you also have the bellypan.

I will almost definately add a tank pad but when you donsider that there are some very nice ones on the market for around £10-£15 the idea of a carbon one for £30 seems a bit much (but then again).

Surprised you aren't thinking of Crash Bobbins. When you consider what they will save you if you do have a scrape they seem like such a good idea. But then again, I never had them on previous bikes.
