So my dealer just sent me an email saying "good news/bad news". Good news: My Street Triple R was delivered today, and they are beginning to build it with my accessories. Bad news: The Arrow Exhaust is back-ordered with no release date. My first question is how long (if anyone has had any experience with back-ordered pipes from Triumph) might this take, and if anyone else heard the same from their dealer today? My second, more important question is whether or not I should ask the dealer for free installation when the pipe arrives. I contacted the dealer a couple days after initially putting my deposit down and added the pipes to my order. They were not on back order at that time (the anodised bar-end mirrors were on back order). My dealer suggested that I have the bike built as-is, and then when I have my first service "hopefully" (dealer quote) the exhaust will be in. I was expecting to have the bike completely set up and picked up by the end of this week/early next week, so I don't think it's unfair to ask that this mishap be redeemed with a free installation. Since I'm paying for the exhaust and won't have it at the time I get the bike, I feel it should be a complimentary installation along with my first service. I also don't want to sound like a dick since the sales manager I've been working with has been pretty awesome. This is my first new motorcycle purchase (first new vehicle purchase for that matter) and I would like to know what I am reasonably entitled to for the inconvenience. Thanks in advance for responses.
