Exclamation Arrow Exhaust Back-ordered

So my dealer just sent me an email saying "good news/bad news". Good news: My Street Triple R was delivered today, and they are beginning to build it with my accessories. Bad news: The Arrow Exhaust is back-ordered with no release date. My first question is how long (if anyone has had any experience with back-ordered pipes from Triumph) might this take, and if anyone else heard the same from their dealer today? My second, more important question is whether or not I should ask the dealer for free installation when the pipe arrives. I contacted the dealer a couple days after initially putting my deposit down and added the pipes to my order. They were not on back order at that time (the anodised bar-end mirrors were on back order). My dealer suggested that I have the bike built as-is, and then when I have my first service "hopefully" (dealer quote) the exhaust will be in. I was expecting to have the bike completely set up and picked up by the end of this week/early next week, so I don't think it's unfair to ask that this mishap be redeemed with a free installation. Since I'm paying for the exhaust and won't have it at the time I get the bike, I feel it should be a complimentary installation along with my first service. I also don't want to sound like a dick since the sales manager I've been working with has been pretty awesome. This is my first new motorcycle purchase (first new vehicle purchase for that matter) and I would like to know what I am reasonably entitled to for the inconvenience. Thanks in advance for responses.

Its just a slip on so installation is no big deal and given the situation IMO you shouldn't even have to ask, the dealer should just install it at your first service. Do I think they should also throw in the first service, no, unless you negotiated that up front since it's not the dealers fault and a delay in accessories for a new model in its first month of release should be expected.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I didn't expect/negotiate a free first service, I just know when I added my exhaust and belly-pan to the order, I was charged another hour for labor. Rather, I would like to know if that extra hour of labor can/will be taken off of the cost. Not a big deal in any way but probably something to talk over with my dealer?

Let us know if/when they provide a delivery date on the Arrow Exhaust. I also want to upgrade but I am waiting till i break in the bike and there is more information on custom tunes and/or ECU mapping.

It's not the dealers fault and the tech should be paid his labor when it is done. Yes, it sucks but can and does happen often on newly released models.
As for paying at time of delivery or when the actual parts arrive...totally up to you. I wouldn't worry about them not following through. They will.

I just came from ProItalia in Glendale CA and they have a Street Triple full Arrow exhaust hanging on the wall for sale. So its not on backorder everywhere.

The Arrow can in question is for the 2013, it is not a full exhaust, just a slip on, and completely different than prior years.

Arrow

Can anyone say if there is a benefit to the Arrows weight or power wise? So this is just a "slip on can" and not full headers etc..?

How much is just the can? Full system?
