"Limited" Streety

Well, after almost 2 years of riding a Street Triple that I thought was limited to 47 hp (Spanish laws), I recently pulled the tank and air box off to take a look and see this restrictor bracket for myself.

The reason behind this was the fact that I knew that there was no way a bike limited to 47hp could pull so hard, go so fast and be so much fun.

Much to my surprise, I found out that my bike is NOT, and never has been limited. This means my dealer screwed me (charging me for limiting the bike), gave me illegal paperwork (my documents reflect that my bike is limited) and not to mention, if I was involved in an accident, my insurance wouldnt cover me.

Would anyone happen to know the process that Triumph does to ensure that a bike is limited? do the limitation kits have serials numbers that "link" a kit to a specific bike?

Good questions all, but I have no suggestions other than "Talk to a more reliable, honest Triumph dealer...he will probably know". Good Triumph dealers are, in my experience, extremely hard to come by, but somebody you know must know somebody on your side of the pond who is both knowledgeable and honest.

Might be that the wrong kit was fitted and you are restricted to 95 hp rather than 47.

I did see that, and its what helped me find out that my bike isnt limited. Thank you much for that post. If i get the chance in the near future, I will pull my tank off and take a couple of pictures to show you guys and let you see what I am talking about.

Now this does raise a question...since there is no bracket fitted to my bike, should it be at its full "108hp" potential?
