Custom exhaust

I was searching around on the web for custom exhaust and even the possibility of making my own and stumbled across this:
http://www.coneeng.com/pdf/motorcycl...lers%20PDF.pdf

Has any one here seen or used these? For $135 - $140 you can have a stainless steel cone/reverse cone slip-on! You'd have to do some welding yourself, or have some shop do it for you, to attach a bracket but heck, for that price you can do a lot and still be way under the cost of the commercial, branded, options out there. I may just have to give this a try.

You mean you've used this particular product? If so, what do you think of it?

BTW, I can't make my mind up if I want to get two and keep the high-mount exhaust or get one and convert to a low-mount, 3-1 setup.

I have used many parts from Cone Eng.

The merge collector kits are a pretty good deal for the price. They are formed from sheet metal that was first welded into a cone shape, then pressed into a collector shape. It is probably not the BEST design, but it is better than stock IMO.

It would be tough to use one of their 2 into 1 collectors on a Street Triple for the under tail section. It is not really designed to have the 2 pipes split off at such a high angle. If you fabbed the entire system it would probably work ok, but it would be difficult to use if you plan to add it to the existing twin pipes, or any aftermarket twin pipes with the same dimensions.

Going deaf would be an issue too. I had a shorty on mined for a while. Oy was great for hooliganism, but got old quick

I'm going to put on an exhaust cutout instead of changing the exhaust cans. It goes into the collector pipe area just before the exhaust cans. A switch allows you to open it up and make noise or close it and have stock exhaust sound again. So in my neighborhood i can be quiet, on the open road i can make noise.
