Fuel Pump and Tank Prices

So apparently my tank was repaired at some stage and they cut a hole in it and welded it back together. It doesn't leak but its rusted out the whole inside and clogged up the non-replaceable (***?!?!) gauze fuel filter at the intake of the fuel pump.

Apparently the fuel pump has been apart before and it won't go
back together properly and so I can't get any fuel pressure.

Bottom line... New Fuel pump required

Is there somewhere online that I can price a new fuel pump? Also I need to confirm the correct part number for my bike too. Help with that would be appreciated.

They have quoted me $650 AUD for the Pump and $1300 AUD for the Tank.

i just had a new fuel tank installed on my '10. the price was $861 (US$)

There are a few tank's on us e-bay probably a fuel pump too.

The OP is in Brisbane Australia so US e-bay may be a poor choice.

You'd be surprised at how cheap shipping can be from the US to Australia. Might be cheaper then going to the dealer.

The fuel pump is pretty much identical to the one used on the 07'-08' Yamaha R1's. Have seen postings about it before. However, the low fuel level sensor will not work.
Much easier to find a Yamaha part for cheap.
