Passenger comforts
As much as it pains me, my g/f rides pillion quite often. On my previous bike (FZ-6), she had two grab handles to hang onto when things got tight in the twisties. She is comfortable on my new STR, but has nothing to hang onto.
I have seen the Triumph Genuine Accessories grab handle, but it looks kind of dorky. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendation for some wife/ girlfriend creature comforts. We do a good bit of riding together. Probably have 10,000 or so miles together. She is a real trooper, but if I can make it easier for her I'd like to.

I installed the Triumph rear grab handle and it works great. She should be able to use that with no problems. You might also try a buddy belt - one of those belts you wear and built in handles for the pillion

I don't think I could bring myself to wrap one of those belts around myself. The grab rail will suffice. I wasn't terribly optimistic but I wanted to see if there were any other options that would be helpful, while retaining the stock look.

I bought the Oxford belt for my wife to hold on to. Yes, it may look dorky, but for her it's the best thing I could have done because she feels secure on the bike now. It's really not that much of a pain to wear, either. Not saying your choice of the grab rail is wrong, just that the belt works well for me and her.

It is hers. I bought it for her last year to start riding on. She rides with me on longer rides though since she is just starting out. We usually do a dozen over night trips on my bike during the spring summer and fall as well.

from a handling perspective, you would be better off with the pillion holding on to you rather than a rear grab rail.
The shifting of weight forward with the belt will ultimately help you in the curves.

Ditch the girl friend and use the Triple how it's meant to be used
I had a Honda CBR1100XX for 8 years and my wife used to travel everywhere with me. When I got the Triple, she refused to come on the back again after the first ride. Absolutely fine by me as it can't be ridden how it's meant to be ridden when you're two up . Oh, and I'm 65 years young and definitely know how it's supposed to be ridden

Lol yeah, I ride the **** out of my STR. I have expressed my distate in her riding with me, but such is life. Sometimes I do need to stop and smell the roses
I'm thinking it will be a grab handle and some saddlebags and that's it.

Good man!
My wife now says she'll only come back riding with me if I get a cruiser but hell will freeze over first. Besides, she has a Mazdaspeed-prepared MX5 Miata which is her toy, so we're both happy
