Placed my order!

After riding my buddies Street Triple I fell in love with the bike. I had to wait untill I sold my Buell Ulysses before I could make the move. Well, it sold this week and I just put down a deposit on a black 2013 "R"! From all I've read it sounds like it should be even more amazing than the previous model. Looks like I'll have to keep my enthusiasm in check as the dealer said January or February delivery which means the heart of winter around here. I'm 62 yrs old and have been riding for over 45 yrs and I still get excited over a new bike, can't wait!

Do you mind telling which dealership you bought from? I have Manayunk Triumph only 3 miles from me but I bought my Speedy from Jack Treybour near you. I'm thinking of trading in my Speed for the new Street. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I know its a new model so it will be hard to negotiate, but just want to make sure dealers aren't marking them above msrp.

Yes it was Trebour Motors. I'm Ok with the deal I made, I actually saved a little. I'd rather not mention the price but it was not inflated.

Welcome aboard

Lots of other riders are trading in Speedys for the new 2013 Streety. This will happen regardless if you test ride one - you cannot resist.

Well waiting in the dead of winter is better than waiting in the spring.
I recently read the Street Triple is Triumphs best selling model world wide. It is almost impossible to find a good used one.......... got to be a reason.

I'm jealous that you have already fixed your deal, and that you apparently have a choice of dealers relatively close (just assuming on that last comment). I'm in Northern, VA, and the closest dealer to me is in Annapolis, MD, but I won't be going to them, because I would have to drive through the madness that is DC. The only other choice is Frederick, MD, which is 50 miles away.

I've never not ridden a bike home from buying it, but it looks like I might have to break out the trailer for this one. Especially if it's in Feb or Mar.

Jack, 50 miles isn't too bad, I'll be driving either 193 miles to Santa Rosa,CA or 213 miles to medford, OR for mine. the dealer in medford doesn't chage a set-up or doc fee, and they seem really cool on the phone, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to order it from them.

Hey someday, did you order any accessories? If so, did they tell you they would arrive with the bike, or after? When i put down my deposit for the bike I'm also going to order the belly pan, molded nylon frame protectors, and fly screen. But I'm a little nervous these items will be back-ordered.
I'm also trying to decide whether to spend $400 for the Triumph quick shifter. I like the idea, but it would probably just get me in trouble.
