Classic single walled exhaust header. Nothing's wrong. Don't worry about it.

I even read a post somewhere that the pipes get red hot where it mounts to the engine.
Someone even took a video of a guy who got off the bike and lit his cigarette off of it.
Just something I read, don't know how true it is.

Means your engine is more than decorative.

More specifically, the chromium oxide coating is being affected by being exposed to oxygen at a high temperature. At the present time I do not know if the coating is getting thicker, or simply changing oxidation states. In a few semesters I’ll be taking actual metallurgy classes instead of general education, so I’ll have the answer by then.

Anyway, it is nothing to worry about.

It is very true! I ride my bike a lot during the early morning and at dusk (commuting) and if i stop it and look at it right after shutting it off, you can see the headers glowing. And of course, the harder you play, the more it glows!

+1

I like to ride my bike, not spend a lot of time to make it look like I don't.
