thanks for all the help gents. you pretty much confirmed what i expected... just to be sure, gave them a call today to follow up, and they said they'd get back to me. surprise, surprise; they didnt...

i can understand if they don't want to do the service because they don't feel like they're compensated enough for it by triumph. but it's pretty inexcusable to play this stupid game for almost 3 months. that's total b*ll****. then again, these guys these guys have a reputation for being ********...

I called my dealer today, and after a few minutes on hold the service guy said they had 3 R/Rs in stock, when could I bring it in? So I am getting it swapped tomorrow at 10 am when they open (winter hours doncha know). He said it would take about an hour.

So. Will it be as easy as that? I sure hope so because tomorrow Denver might be breaking a record for the highest temp recorded for the date if it hits 74F like they say it will.

UPDATE: Got the R/R replaced in about an hour. They also found an oil leak which turned out to be the gasket on the clutch cover. Since my bike is out of warranty that cost me $160, which was mostly labor including the diagnostic time (ouch) but it needed to be done. The R/R was free of course and I can see the new black one in it's different location. Bike runs fine. I am happy with their service. They also said they have two more R/Rs in stock.

I received the letter but it says for 2006-2009 models. Mine is a 2011. Does that mean they are just notifiying S3 owners and this really only applies to the 06-09 models.

You need to call with your VIN, as that is what the range is really based on, not the year.
