anyone have signal lights just break off?

When I took the cover off of my bike today, I noticed 3 of the signal lights had broken off, the plastic just snapped off. I had taken the cover off carefully too, think it would take more than that to break one off anyway. Has anyone had this problem?

Yep, seems pretty common at least on the 12's. Mine had one dangling 30 miles from the dealer and another cracked when I pulled into their shop. They replaced them.

Interesting you mention this; I saw a new Speed Triple R on the showroom floor with a broken signal.

Yes just had one of mine replaced. At least the dealers are taking care of this.

My left turn signal was craced at the mounting base about 1 week after I purchased it. Took it in to get replaced under warrenty and it was not a problem. When I picked it up after getting it replaced the one they had just installed was also cracked.

I personally think the plastic that is being used for the turn signals are crap but it could also be due to overtorquing the bolt.

any recalls on them?

Seems I am not the only one. Anyone hear of a recall on them? Hopefully they can be replaced with a better product.

No one that I talked to at my dealer had heard of the problem, although they said they would replace the broken ones. I hate the idea of handing my bike over, so I fixed them myself with some gorilla glue, scotch tape, and washers. I know that sounds horrible, but you wouldn't be able to tell really. Other than that, I love the bike.
I am wondering if other 2012 triumphs have the same problem, the speed and daytona use the same signals right?

When I brought mine in they indirectly said it was my fault and that they had never seen this before. Luckily for me as I was walking out another owner was walking in with the exact problem.

Needless to say they took care of it. But supposedly they had not received the go ahead from triumph. They did it because two of us experienced the same problem so they figured it would be covered. Not sure if I believe that or not. At least they are fixed! Sure beats the electrical tape!

Would it be fair to assume that this problem seems largely confined to the 2012 model? I own a 2010 R model and my indicators have never shown any signs of fragility.

I think it depends on when you got it. My 2012 had no problems with them until I low sided. Broke off the front left one and when I got the replacement in it broke the very first day. Was able to still use my original as it was fine where it held on, just replaced the innards from the new one and it is still good.
