Just received the exhaust today. Right out of the box it was already a huge disappointment. The quality is utter ****.

I guess, Dan fixed the issue with the connecting pipes not lining up (http://www.triumphrat.net/street-tri...-mufflers.html).... by cutting and welding the pipe at a different angle.

Look at that ugly weld on the connecting pipe, it looks like pure crap!

Furthermore, The carbon fiber sleeves are already chipped at the edges. If you are familiar with carbon fiber... once it begins chipping, it does not stop... just like a thread that starts unraveling.







I am a bit reluctant to even attempt to mount these pipes. Maybe they will look better once mounted up. However, at the moment they look like a huge failure. Guess you get what you pay for.

that "fix" in the connector pipe looks so damn unprofessional ... definitely has put me off ordering a set

can you post a pic up once you've put them on ... especially one of the "fix" in relation to the bike?

I am not a difficult person to please, and I am VERY lenient with minor imperfections.

However, the first words out of my mouth when I saw the connecting pipe were "***". How could you send someone such a monstrosity?!?!
The guy should be ashamed of himself.


Another $200-300 and I could have bought the Comp Werks or Leo Vince.

Wow! That is amateurish and ugly.

Send them back and get a refund mate, that is crap!

Have a look at other pipes, there are plenty of good ones around.

Here is the response from, Danmoto.

"i'm sorry to hear that you're not happy with the pipe.

The weld at this point is necessary, as the lower part of the pipe
needs to be under an angle of 5 degree. It's not possible to bend
this, as it's too close to the flange and also too close to the other
bend. The distance between two bends needs to be about 3 times the
pipe diameter, to assure a good material flow without thin spots.Due
to this we cannot fabricate it out of one piece in this pipe size.
The original exhaust has the same curve in the lower end, but due to
the smaller pipe diameter it can be bended out of one piece.
Because we're using a bigger pipe,we need to cut the pipes under and
angle and weld the lower flange on. That's not a repair/modification
of a defective pipe. All pipes have this weld, as you can see on the
pictures in our item descriptions.

I have to agree that this weld on your pipe is not very beautiful. It
was polished down quite a lot and all the "waves" of the weld are gone
and only the few deeper spots are left. Technicaly it's in good
working order, we test all welds for potential leaks.
The pipe passed QC, as this weld is nearly not visible when mounted on
the bike, but i can understand how you feel about it.

To settle this issue i can send you a new pipe which i check before
shipment by myself and i assure you it will have beautiful welds, like
on the cans.
Or if you're not interested in a replacement, please return the items
to us to recieve a full refund inc. shipping."
