Electrical Accessory Wiring Harness

I just purchased some Tourmaster heated gear and when I went to hook up the wiring harness to the battery, I discovered something...It's already there :-)

I didn't see anything in the Triumph manual about the bike being wired for accessories, so I'm wondering if my dealer wired it for a battery tender, and then forgot to remove the harness. The plug outlet is tie wrapped just underneath the Triple R plastic on the left side of the bike. Its in the perfect position for hooking up my heated vest.

Is that a dealer installed "option", or did they just forget to mention it in the manual?

Could you please post up a picture of this plug and it's location? Other than the connector for the alarm and code reader tool, I was unaware of any other accessory plug on the bike.

I'll try to take photos of it tonight. I found it by following an extra set of wires that were attached to the battery. The harness had a 25 amp fuse on it and ran from the box behind the battery along the left hand side of the frame.

Neanderthal,
Here are the photos...hopefully :-)
I'm beginning to suspect that the dealership put it on for a battery tender and just forgot to remove it when I bought the bike. Either way, now I have a spare harness in case something happens to the original one. Let me know if you find one on your bike.

Mine has a different connector but the same wiring. They wired up a connector for a battery tender and left it on when I bought the bike. Cool gesture in my opinion.

Well, that's not a pigtail from the original "Battery Tender" made by Deltran (an SAE type plug), but it could be Triumph's or some other battery tender-type product. That type of plug is more commonly seen with heated clothing. Thanks for the photos though. Mine did not come with a loose feed. I did hardwire a Deltran Battery Tender Jr in place after running my battery down, twice, lol. Took me a little while to quit turning the key all the way to the left.

Mind came with a battery tender pig tail on the battery as well. Not the type you had but the old type.
