I've been looking for Daytona forks at the typical locations (CL and ebay) but haven't found any yet. These suckers are hard to find.

In the event I find some, I was wondering what I need to know to do this right.

My understanding is that i will need to buy the forks, calibers, and master cylinder.

Is there anything I'm missing?

Will any of the Daytona years work: O6, 07, 08, 09...?

Are there better years to buy?

What are some recommendations to look for so that I'm not buying forks that might have hidden problems?

I appreciate the advice from folks that have already been down this road.

I believe the 09 forks are the best as they have both high and low speed compression/dampening.

You will indeed need a new master cylinder, brake calipers, and forks.
Other than those bits I believe you should be okay.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ha! That's so weird. I came on tonight about to ask exactly the same question and saw this thread.

I managed to get the forks, the front calipers and master cylinder but make sure that you also get the bolts for the calipers.

Does anyone know if the Daytona 675 brake lines will be the right length for the Street?

FYI, I heard that the lines are different lengths.

oh, btw, what did the forks and calibers cost you?

Got them all on eBay man. The forks from the UK (£240) the calipers and master cylinder from the US (£180 inc delivery).

Going to get the front forks re-valved and resprung with an Ohlins kit and get the Ohlins unit on the rear. Hopefully there will be a big improvement after that. It's really the only complaint I have with the standard S3. An amazing bike otherwise!

Just out of interest what is your problem with them? I have heard some people say they are too soft, others too hard.

I weigh 190lbs so they are way soft for me. I already swapped out the rear shock which made a big difference.

Plus, the stock shocks has no dampening.

The Daytona brake lines will be needed as you will have a new master cylinder. The street stock lines are too short, I believe.

I've read about it quite a bit on this forum and on Triumph675. There's quite a bit of information on people doing a Daytona swap.

I weigh about 180 lbs full gear and close to 190 if I have a backpack on, and my Street Triple R does fine (that's because it has the 08 Daytona goodies on it, stock).

Ohlins is a waste of money unless you're actually going to track the bike.
