Haven't ridden a standard, but the R brakes are GREAT, can't beat factory stainless lines.

No. Not unless you are in to track days for pushing as hard as you can into every corner the standard brakes are fine.

As for steel braided all Triumphs come with them.

Are all ST3 std manifold/header/down pipe sets the same?

2009-2012 R and std models?

I was told by an aftermarket radiator company the street triples and daytonas had different exhaust headers.

Not relevant to r vs standard, but I still wanted to throw that out there and see if that's corrrecy or not

Had to edit due to terrible cell phone autocorrect

I'm not sure what you are saying?

All Street Triples have the same header.

Pre-09 and post-09 Daytonas have different headers. Pre-09 Daytona headers will bolt onto the head of all Street Triples but have a different flange for connecting to the mid-pipe.

In the UK the STR has a front brake hose clip on the bottom yoke (triple tree) BUT the standard doesn't- that's got to be worth ££££s.

That actually varies year to year. There seems to be some variance in the spring rates between years and Triumph doesn't publish the changes. Roughly though around 160 average for the non-R and 180 for the R.
