tanks cords

I was wondering wha the two cords on the bottom of the left side of the gas tank. There about a yard long each and one has a little cylinder thing on one end of it. if anyones knows can you please tell me which way tthey go and what there for. Right now I m getting a heavy gas smell and wondering if that where its comin from?

One is a gas overflow and the other is a coolant overflow.

You'll find the coolant overflow is another hose nearer to the centre of the engine. The 2 out of the tank are gas overflow and tank vent which connects to the tank cap upon closing.

Crawford, do you have the belly pan?, cause you don' want to cut the hoses too short so that excess fuel and vapours spill on to the belly, it will eat the paint away.
