Thumbs up Radiator guard

Hi all , just fitted a radiator guard to my St3R, got it from Evotech performance, have to say its a well made, looks good, fits well on the bike (no tweeking required) and blends well with the appearance of the bike, all fitted within 10 minutes, have left a link to thier site below, very prompt delivery service too....

Cool! If they ever get them in the US, I'll buy one. I see this as the only shortcoming of the Triple, although my mechanics claim they have never had to replace a radiator yet.

That's what I keep thinking. These forums are not full of people complaining about damaging their radiators. At least not without a fall to go with it. I'm thinking I don't "need" a guard.

Just to resurrect this a little...I seem to remember reading somewhere on this or the 675 forum a comment that a radiator guard (or certain model of guard..?) "really enhanced the intake growl". Implying that the comment was about a model that affected the intake in some way? Don't see how, but can any of the experts comment? If not the rad guard, what could modify the intake sound? I love the sound of the intake and to make it even more "growly" would be something I'd be interested in!!!

+1 for Evotech.

Fitted the Evotech rad guard to mine too a week ago. Nice bit of kit and fits well using the 2 screws each side of the radiator. Much better than others I've used on other bikes that are just zip tied. A lot of muck collected on it already so it's doing it's job just dandy.

Yeah you never "need" a radiator guard till that one day out in the middle of nowhere and you're mate flicks up a big rock and POP!

Havent priced one, but I reckon you could buy 4 or 5 rad guards for the price of a radiator...

I think you must be talking about the intake mod-you replace the plastic air intake which is a bit restrictive with a piece of artfully folded metal mesh-to keep bees out!- it does increase the intake growl and is said to free up 2bhp. A guy on the UK forum made and sold some but has disappeared from view. search on street-triple.co.uk. It is easily possible to do it your self.
