Side stand?

So I used a lowering link to lower the seat height, and the side stand is still just a bit too tall. Is welding the only option for shortening the side stand, or is there another side stand that I can purchase?

There is a tab on the stand itself that serve as a stopper(when deployed) I think you could file this part in such a way as to make the stand rotate farther thus making it shorter. Or the L shape part that hold the switch (the stand itself bolt to this piece) could also get file to get the same effect. I personnaly would do the latter since it would probably be cheaper to replace(this part) in the advent you sell the bike later. Hope it helps.

We had the same issue with the girlfriend's bike when a lowering link was installed. Rotating the sidestand forward works well. I wouldn't waste any money on welding or on an aftermarket stand even if one were available.

Wheezer, can you explain what you mean by rotating it forward? A picture, maybe?

Thanks,
Nancy

I've just had my 09 Street Triple R lowered with a link kit too & I'd like more clarity on how this wks?

I also find the side stand a little oddly positioned for my short legs, perhaps I'll get used to this

I now understand what is meant by rotating the stand, but unfortunately the length is a problem as I hav a belly pan installed on my st3r (09) that i like! still no solution for me
