Differences between 2008 and 2009/2010 models

I'm looking to buy a Street Triple, but I can't decide between a used '08 model and a new 2010 model. What differences, if any, are there between them?

Thanks

Haven't seen any specs yet for the 2010, so I can't answer that myself. Have you actually found one somewhere?

There's no difference of any consequence between 2008 and 2009, at least.

My local dealer has a 2010 model, but they're asking $600 above MSRP. A dealer about 4 hours away has a used 2008 model, so I might go with that if my local dealer doesn't get more realistic on their pricing.

Actually, the difference between 2008 and 2009 is a shorter handlebar width by 2 inches or so... but that's about it!

At some point after the SN on my '09 Triumph made the quick shifter a plug-n-play item.

Just picked up my white 2010 Striple and from what I can tell, it's identical to the 2009. Some people have posted pics of a different dash and higher redline, but mine has the same clock as last year.

Prices in the US went from MSRP of $8,699 to $8,899 (plus that $450 freight charge) from what the dealer told me. You can still get bargains though... picked mine up for $8,499 out the door.

There is a 2010 model Street Triple R at a local dealers. It has a different instrument pod with orange detailing on the clocks and just two buttons on the left rather than three below. However, the factory are still shipping some bikes as per the 2009 specs. The dealer had some in at the same time.

I have the 2011 on order. Obviously it is no longer a 675 because of the change in bore stroke to 735cc apart from that and a change to brembo monoblock calipers it is more or less the same..........

Haha got ya !

2010 vs 2009 Street Triple R

Hi All

I have had my 2010 'R' now for a month. The two differences between the old and new models are:

1. The rear sprocket is now anodised black.
2. The instrument cluster is very different. There are 2 buttons on the left that are more accessible, the tacho on the right is now orange backed ( and looks great at night the way the backlight radiates from the centre) and the speedo has moved to the left LCD panel and is therefore easier to read.

Cheers

Andy
