I installed my Leo Vince slip ons this evening... they look even better than I'd seen in the photos, they sound sweet... they're loud even without removing any baffles.

Does anyone know what the round metal discs are for that came in the box? They're the diameter of the end of the pipes and have 5 holes in them...

oh and one more question... the leo vince is supposed to work with the stock tune, but it's gotta be different. I've read about the '12 minute tune'... what is that supposed to do exactly?

I am also a bit skeptical of the "Factory Tune" claim. I would bet a TOR or Arrow slip-on tune would work well. ???

The round metal disc's fit between the end can and the link pipe. So you will have to unbolt the end cans, pull the holding springs off and fit the disc's.
When i first fitted my Leo's I thought the stock tune was good enough but I took it the Triumph dealer who fitted the Arrow under seat can Tune and the bike runs alot smoother and better. Only cost £27 here in the UK, worthwhile having it done.
The "12 Minute Tune" you have heard of is probably called that because that is maybe how long it takes the dealer to put the new map on. Here in the UK they charge 30mins labour.

ah yes - thank you. That should quiet things down a bit and pull the tune closer. Funny those discs aren't on the schematics - I was thinking they were used somewhere if the db killers were removed.

Thanks again.

I'll try to get some pics up this weekend. I just got back from having the Arrow tune installed - it does seem better. The sound is sweet, looks sweet... power difference? Not sure yet.

Your dealer is good !! At least a 2 week book in time for most in the UK.

So how do you secure the discs so that they don't vibrate causing a slight 'bell ringing' sound? I have the pipe fitted as tight as possible with the can, but there's apparently still just a bit of play in there for the disc.

I called Leo Vince about this, and their response was that most people don't use those discs... and otherwise there's really no way that they could tell me to secure them. They are apparently included for emissions requirements in Europe, but they also quiet the pipes down considerably... which I like. I found them too loud without them in.
