Street triple reliability

I currently ride a 06 Wee-Strom with about 25,000 miles and the bike has been trouble free, with virtually zero maintenance. Anyone here with a ST with some miles? I'm interested to see how these bikes hold up once you put some miles on them.

I don't own a Street but Triumph engines are generally bulletproof. I'm on my 7th Hinckley and have had bikes with 30,000+ miles and they have been perfect. As the Street is a detuned 675 then reliability should be fine. If you have a test ride you will want one.

I currently run a 2004 yamaha fazer which has been 100% reliable
and im now looking to order a new striple R. I dont have any other
transport so will be using the bike every day for work etc, the problem is that everyone i ve spoken to seems to say the same thing, " its a triumph so it ll break down or fall to bits".
Im hoping you guys can let me know bout the reliability of your street triples or if they havent been what the issues have been
before i shell out almost 7 grand of my hard earned on my first new bike. Looking forward to some positive feedback(hopefully). Thanks.

Smile Nothing to worry about!

My first "new gen" Triumph.

Everybody here I spoke to before I bought my Tripple swears by Triumph's reliability. So I am not worried at all!

Just about 1000 miles on mine and I could not be happier! Everythign it does it does brilliantly!

So stop worrying and buy it!

Evolution!

I think overall Triumph has superb reliability. My only complaint has been parts availability, but because I live 200 miles from the nearest dealership and both me and the person on the other end of the phone have to be in the same universe speaking the same lingo about the same bike on the same day, it's tougher than you might think...

Are all the people telling you this either Harley riders, old guys, people who are VERY brand specific or just idiots. Old Triumphs were temper mental so "old" guys would say their unreliable. Harley guys and anyone "brand specific" are just haters of anything they don't ride. And idiots are just that, so don't bother listening to any of them. Anyway, I've had my Street Triple for 9 months and just rolled over 10100 miles, yes that is ten thousand one hundred miles. Not one problem. Just change the oil and get your services done. Don't let anyone tell you a Striple is unreliable if they have never owned one.

I did 13000 kms on my Bonneville last year and have done 12000 kms on my ST3 in the last 9 months. Just regular servicing. My husband did even more distance on his Tiger and Speed triple than I have on my bikes.

I ride with guys that have done between 60 and 100,000 kms on their current bikes over the past several years. Regular servicing and attention only. They love their Triumphs as I love mine. My mechanic owns two of them and he certainly loves to ride, not work on his bike (unless its to mod it).

Older Triumphs have a rep as finnicky and leaky, but the new ones are great

Approx 2,000 miles on my Striple without a hint of a problem. In fact, I was confident enough in it to go on a 600 mile trip into the middle of no-where (north-central Arkansas) a couple of weeks ago.
I hate to sound biased, but I truly think that the 675 engine is one of the very best motorcycle engines ever made - by anyone.

Talking Mind made up.

Thanks guys,
Sounds like everyone i ve spoken to has been thinking of the old
school triumphs and not the new generation bikes.
I just had to be sure, when you dont have a backup bike it needs
to be pretty reliable but you guys have put my mind at ease.
Looking like i ll be headin to the triumph dealership this weekend,
just one more thing to worry about, orange or grey(ha ha).
Thanks for your help guys, really appreciated.

Other Motorcycle: 750 Ducati Monst.- sold!
Right on!

I've only put 1600 on my stripple, but that's in 2 months. Not even a question of doubt in my mind, and everyone I've spoken with speaks highly of the Hinkley Triumphs.

Now, if you want to talk tempermental, I've got stories for you... before my lovely stripple I had a Ducati Monster with 42,000 miles on it. Lots of money to maintain, broke down more than she ran for me (I am NOT mechanically inclined), and lots of praying and voodoo on any trips more than 5 miles from a major metropolitan area. Loved that bike (still would had I not sold her), but ohh, the magic of starting your bike and hearing it.... start!
