3-1 lowboy scraping on ground???

Hey there. On another forum someone posted pics of their 3-1 arrow with scratches on the side due to it rubbing on the ground during a trackday.

Has anyone here experienced anything like it?

Cheers.

Nope. Didn't have that problem, but I didn't ride that hard. I was still dragging my knee though.

Video on youtube

Here is a video of a guy on youtube that has a scraping problem. I am not paying $1000-$1200 for that poorly designed and overpriced exhaust.

Watch the video until the end

Yes, but you have to really be going to extremes to do it. You ll probably never do it on the road unless you hit a large bump and bottom out or are a heavy weight.

Then don't get it.

It's NOT a poorly designed exhaust. Some people can lean the bike more than others. I know people that have to file down their rear-sets because they lean the bike farther than what the rear-sets would allow them to do. Not all of us have to lean the bike that far, but apparently your skill level needs you to have more ground clearence.

If you can lean the bike beyond what the arrow will let you, it means you are a skilled rider (i.e. have been doing it for sometime). This would likely mean you are sufficiently intelligent to research the measurements and compare exhausts for clearence (i.e. Zard, vs. Arrow, vs. any of the other low boys).

I got the exhaust. Very happy with it. Think it looks and sounds great. Like many on here (the happy purchasers), I couldn't scrape it on the asphault if I tried.

So please, don't come on here and tell us, those "idiots" that did fork our for it, that it is an over-priced and poorly designed exhaust. If you're not convinced, don't buy it and don't make ridiculous claims because you watched the end of a You Tube video. Take some measurements and buy appropriate equipment to match your riding style.

I scraped mine while going low through a turn where I didn't have my knee down. It's not a big deal, though.

The 3-into-1 pipe is awesome. Great sound, great performance, and much lighter than the original.

I'm thinking there are only two situations where you are going to scrape this exhaust. Either when you hit a bump mid corner compressing the suspension and effectively reducing ground clearance. The other way would be when you are going through a corner and there is a bump or rise that is either very short so your tire goes over and then drops back down or your tires miss all together and basically the road rises up to scrape the muffler.
