Side To Side Play In Throttle

This might be a newb question but figured I would ask since this is my first bike.

I adjusted the slack out of my throttle cable today and also had to make a small adjustment to the clutch cable as well as per the manual. I have noticed that my throttle tube/grip has developed some lateral slide to it. I do not mean the rotational motion I set that to the .125" that was recommended but as in sliding between the the bar end and the switch housing. Just curious if this is a common thing with bikes in general or with the Street Triple but figured I would ask.

I stopped at the dealer today to ask those guys but they were closed with the holiday weekend I guess.

Sorry again for the newb question but thanks for anyones input.

P.S. Those small adjustments I made sure did help out the bike feels just like the first day I got it.

Just a wee smidge. Something like .0625 - .125 in. I'd estimate.

I've had a tiny bit of side to side slop on all my bikes. Nothing to be concerned about. It's normal.

My estimate would be close to .125". Thanks for the info just thought I would ask since it just kind of started to appear.

The only way it would have just started to appear is if your throttle cable was tight and then you loosened it. A tight cable can mask the side to side movement. Other than that there is nothing that will wear that will cause more side to side play.
