ST or ST-R

Hi all,

Assuming tomorrow, after my 2nd test rides on Striple and Tiger, I decide on a Striple...should go for a 'normal' one, or an R. I know what the mechanical differences are, but what is the R like to ride compared to the standard?

This'll be my first bike for over 20 years (the last was a Kawa GPz1100B2), so any very small differences are likely to be lost on me! There would obviously be a big price difference, as I should be able to pick up an ex-demo standard bike with 1000 miles, so that could mean £1500+ less than a new R (as there's no ex-demos).

I don't have the possibility to ride an R, so could I get comments from any of you who have ridden both please?
