Has anyone on the forum ever had their chrome parts re-chromed with black chrome? Or, alternatively, painted with some type of translucent black/smoke color such that the underlying chrome can still shine through?
After putting my
smoke-colored brake lines on my bike yesterday, I got to thinking how nice they looked against the black paint of the bike. It made me wonder about having the chromed parts redone in some fashion to have the same basic look as the brake lines. I've seen photos where people have had their headlights painted black in some fashion and, while I think they look great, I do like the chrome parts. I'd just like them to be blackened.
Any experience or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
