Good-Bye to "La Petite"
Have regretfully put "La Petite", my Nov. 15 '07 Street Triple, up for sale today, due to the back ache that has plagued me most of last year. For some reason, while I can still endure the Rocket III, riding the Street Triple has been too much of a physical pain.
Best wishes to all. Jamie

Sorry to hear that Jamie. I keep thinking to myself, the only thing which would ever make me consider selling my Street Triple would be if I were forced to through some painful medical malady. I keep hoping and praying that I stay fit and limber enough to continue enjoying the bike until it, rather than I, expires.
It's a shame she has to go but I guess you'll have the memories and if you get cravings you can always blag a short test blast off a friendly Triumph dealer I'm sure
I wish you good health and happy riding with your other bike(s).
Gaz.

I certainly have to echo what d'Artagnan said, Jamie. You've had some great experiences with your bike. We've all enjoyed reading about them, and have benefited from the knowledge you gained in the process. I hope you'll continue to visit this forum and share your wisdom with us from time to time.

Sorry to hear of your trouble .....I have had lots of back..neck ...wrist joint..knee ...ankle problems over the last 20 years..some have been acute sports injuries ( I am a martial arts instructor) some more chronic medical problems and some possibly related to occupation (ie sitting or slumping all day!) anyway the point is that at times I have been unable to get out of bed and put my shoes on let alone ride a Striple...early last year things got really bad ..not joking I was about to sell the bike buy an automatic car and possibly a mobility scooter!
I found some simple daily exercises that rapidly sorted me out ...the key for me seemed to be related to the way our body automatically compensates when one part is injuried. Over the years we end up using all sorts of postures , muscle movements that we are not really designed to make ....getting proper movement (sometimes nowhere near the area of the body where we feel the problem is) can really help...this rambling post is hopefully saying , dont sell the bike yet! If you can ride a rocket your body cannot be totally smashed pm me if you want any more advice /info

Thanks for your kind words. Parting with "La Petite" has not been an easy decision. But it's gone, i.e. it's up for sale at the local triumph dealer and I have already cancelled both the license plate and the insurance policy on it.
Nothing precipitous on my part, though. Just the belated realization (I'll turn 60 later this month) that my back problem cannot seemingly be fixed for good, i.e. AFTER undergoing surgery, going through all sorts of painkillers, doing all the MD-prescribed exercizes I could possibly endure, etc... and that "La Petite" was conducive to more back pain than I could resign myself to.
Why is it so that the Rocket III is less of a pain? I don't know but I sure hope it stays that way.
With kind regards to all. Yours. Jamie

Hi Jamie,
Looking at your location, I think I may have just bought your bike...! Does it look suspiciously like this and come with some extra TOR cans?

Cheers,
