LED Conversion

I recently converted all bulbs on my '06 Sprint ST, except the H7 headlamps, to LED. The OEM tail light & brake light assembly is already LED so I didn't have to change that. This conversion included the front parking light, front and rear turn signals, tag light, and the addition of HyperLites. The LED bulbs chosen for the front parking light and front turn signals fit without making any modifications whatsoever to the sockets or housings. I used a Lockhart-Phillips tag frame which inculded LED turn signals and added black LED tag bolts to light the tag. The HyperLites chosen to enhance brake lighting were 16-element units. First, some pics to show some key features:

FRONT TURN SIGNALS:

FRONT PARKING LIGHT:

HYPERLITES, L-P TAG FRAME, LED TAG BOLTS:

Here is a list of items used:
Black LED tag bolts (Custom Dynamics, part # TB01B)
Lockhart-Philips Stealth License Frame Amber (Cycle Gear, part # LOC 122-0060)
HyperLites (H&R Enterprises, part # HLU32-R)
Front Parking Lamps (superbrightleds.com, part # WLED-WW5)
Front Turn Signals (superbrightleds.com, part # 921-A12)
LED Bulb Flasher Unit (superbrightleds.com, part # CF13GL-02)

While I was at it, I also replaced the OEM H7 head light bulbs with Osram NightBreakers from Autosave Components in the UK. The part number on those bulbs was: OSRO499NBR

Overall, the conversion to LED was fairly easy and the bulbs are definitely an upgrade to the OEM lighting. I should point out that the front turn signal LED bulbs are more directional than the stock bulbs and do not utilize the reflector housing as well as the stock bulbs. Still, they are quite bright and show up well, especially from the side. --Ken B.

Hey Hornblower - thanks for the post! Couple of quick questions for ya:
1) Any chance you could post some low light pics showing how the LEDs look when illuminated?

2) I did a search on the super bright leds site for the part numbers you listed but nothing came up? Could you confirm the part numbers again? Thanks!

Cheers-
AG

AG--I was very careful when I posted these part numbers earlier. These part numbers came right off the packages they came in. It may be that they no longer offer these since some time has passed since I bought them. If you give the company a call and give them these part numbers, I feel confident they will know exactly what bulbs you're looking for. Sorry, I don't have any pics showing them illuminated but I can assure you they are very bright and exceed the brightness of the original bulbs. --Ken B.

Folks not to hijack this thread, but I found some LED's of a little different design for the front mirror turn signals. I like 'em...

They also sell HID upgrade kits with slim ballasts.

As long as it's the right base and the LED body will pass thru the opening, I agree, it's a very nice find! --Ken B.

Hornblower-
I sent an email to superbrightleds asking them for confirmation on the part numbers and they pointed me in the right direction, thanks. I've posting them below in case anyone else is interested and had similar problems locating them:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html for WLED-WW5 & 921-A12
and
http://www.superbrightleds.com/tail-...n.html#flasher for CF13GL-02

Sincity-
I like the layout of that LED a bit better than the superbright one. Were you able to fit that LED part# 194_27_SMT_A into the turn signal housing of your Sprint ST? And if so - how does compare to the stock bulb? Any pictures? Thanks!

Cheers
