Took my new ST in for it's 600 mile check. The regular mTriumph mechanic was busy so another guy I know there did the work.

Had him install the heated grips as long as it was in there. He really botched it up. He gave up trying to wire it (thank God) and didn't attempt to cut the hole for the switch (also a good thing).

Now he has the throttle side all screwed up. It appears the whole assembly is rotated 30-45 degrees forward. The Wire for the grip is coming straight up out of the grip.

And most scary, my throttle now has so mjmuch play that it rotates a full quarter turn before actually accelerating! The shop was closing up when I got there so haven't had time to talk to the dealer.

I'm going to redo everything myself. Does anyone have photos and/or instructions on installing the grips on an ST?

I did it myself back in '99. These look pretty similar. I just need to see how the wire was routed out of the grip.

Thanks in advance for any help. :???:

This is awful!!!!!

I would put the pressure on, they butchered a perfectly good bike, let them fix it and pay for it!

WOW.

I am avoiding the dealer like the plague.

I've got heated grip kits for under $30 and they are extremely easy to install. I already did my oil change, removed the passenger foot pegs and checked it over for loose bolts.

I turned 500 miles today and the brakes seem to be biting better everyday.
