2009 Vfr

Well after all the speculation of a 1000cc+ VFR which will rival the Sprint Honda has revealed its new for 2009 VFR

Yeah, nothing different except brakes for idiots that further take away the motorcycle experience. Linked abs. pull the front lever and the bike does all the rest...... front and rear.

Still it is a pretty cool looking scooter, and the ABS is an option that will cost you $1000. Personally I think I'd rather do my own brake modulation though. $11,000 sticker price... I'll stick with my RS,it's cooler anyhow

Boring bike in looks, performance & sound
But good for straight touring

I'll stick with the ST

Cheers
Poddy

What was funny was all these rumors of a Sprint Killer VFR with a V5 motor blah blah blah and in then end nothing. They even kept the VTEC which the riders loathe....

i think the linked brakes are more for the "entry/harley/cruiser" riders. you would not believe how many people I meet up at deal's gap riding cruisers that "ONLY use their rear brake". most of them "claim" it has more stopping power. I usally ask them "why do you think there are 2 disc brakes on the front then?" I also make sure I head to the store infront of them LOL,,,, back on topic, I have always liked the VFR, I wish they would bump it up on power, although I think honda's ST got that attention when they went from 1100 to 1300. i think its time they spend some more R&D on the viffer power wise

Thank goodness for that. I waited for a month umming and ahhing over whether to get the Sprint or wait and see what the new VFR might bring (found the 2008 model very lack lustre)

Having plumped for the Sprint a couple of weeks ago, I'm very relieved to see that next years VFR is the same boring model and that I make a good call in the end

Boring as bat pooh!

I am with Poddy these are boring to look at and boring to ride. Whitegoods on wheels!

The marketing people at Triumph must laughing their heads off when they see Honda serve up such crap that is past its used by date.:

Until Honda churn out a 1000cc sports tourer the Sprint will continue to reign supreme in this class.

Anyone seem a pic of it actually on public display ?

Noted the 'Topspeed' article mentions the Honda bikes been unveiled at the 2008 INTERMOT in Cologne currently underway - yet I havn't been able to find a single picture of the bike 'pictured' in the article actually on public display anywhere on the net ....... Has any body found an actual 'bike on show in the public domain' pictures ? .....

There are pics of a radical design concept V4 style exercise on show at Cologne - but it's no 2009, about to go sale production machine.

Any body got an 'on display for real' pic - ?

Welcome aboard

Hi PIGME,
welcome to our Sprint forum.

For me VFR's don't cut the mustard, not with that annoying Vtec anyway.

PIGME we ask all noobs here to please have a read of our forum sticky for "new members".

It's just something we ask everyone so I won't break my custom!

cheers and enjoy the forum

DaveM
