Mikern, I like this idea.

Aside from the look, keep in mind it will be loud. I recently installed a D&D slip on, which is longer and maybe larger diameter than that muffler, and my setup is as loud as I'd like to go. Noticable, but not obnoxious.

See if you can get some sound clips from them - should help the decision making process.

I inquired about this pipe before I bought their undertail unit. He said it would fit, but he was not sure of any possible interference with panniers/passenger pegs.

A friend just had one installed on his 1999 S3

Installation required some modification since the mount is attached the the brake lever pivot point. It locked up the rear brake on initial fitting.

Surprisingly, it is not "much" louder than the TOR can. I've hear D&D cans that were much more booming. It has sort of a muted bark similar to the Arrow system on a 675. This was with the insert installed.

it worked extremely well with the modified Tuneboy tune for an aftermarket muffler. It did not lean out the mixture any more than the TOR can.

As far as interference it comes nowhere hear the passenger peg, but panniers might be an issue, since the pipe would blow directly at them.

You guys got any more input or advice on this can for a guy who just dented the crap out of his MHP high mount? I love the look of the stubby, gets out of the way of the beauty of the single sided swingarm. How loud is it without the street baffle? Too loud?

Do a search

You might find something, recent even. Pics, dyno results, who knows what might be in here.

Click the link above - Dolson has just done an extensive report on this with full dyno runs etc

The long and the short is it makes more power than any other pipe ever tested, fits great, does not interfere with luggage, and has a removable baffle so can be loud or quiet...

By the way, there is no issue with the strap binding the rear brake if you put the bolt we supply in rather than using stock - it's 5mm longer to allow for this exact issue.
