Finally own a Triumph but have a question.
Hi everyone, I finally am the owner of a Triumph. I have always admired them and now am proud to say I own one. I just bought a 2007 ST, I bought it used from a dealer, and have noticed it has a lot of extras, like carbon fibre, chain guard, tire hugger, tank protectore, triumph touring screen, Brembo master cyclinder, triumph heated grips, front mud guard. But here is my question, how do you know if you have a "triumph silencer". I thought it was a stock exhaust, but it does have quite a bit of sound to it. And with all the other things that have been upgraded, it has gotten me wondering. Is there a visual difference between the stock can and the performance one that Triumph Sells? Thanks,

It says it on the belly of the can. Kneel by your tire and look up under your seat and it will say OFF Road USE stamped into it.

What Calliway said, but also you can look into a stock muffler and see a baffle part way down. The T.O.R exhaust is open all the way thru.

Oh sorry, it is black. It seems like it was quite a find. Came from the US, so it is in Miles, but it only has 3300 on the clock. Has tonnes of extras on it, I am finding it has even more then I knew of, like the axle nut covers. I guess it does have the TOR exhaust. It says on the bottom of the muffler that it isn't meant for Road use or something like that. I just hope it had the proper ECU tuning for it. I suppose there is no way of knowing that without going to the dealer is there? It doesn't seem to bog any or anything like that. I am thinking that if the guy that owned it had spent the money he did on it then chances are it has been done. I mean it even has a Brembo Master cylinder. I had better count the sprocket as well, it may have been changed too. Thanks,

Nice buy and welcome to the forum.
It is a TOR muffler that you have, it is unlikely to have been installed without the TOR tune. Short of having a Tuneboy handy the only way you can tell what tune is installed is go to a Triumph dealer that has a diagnostic gadget.

Welcome and do post some pictures. It sounds as though you lucked into a nicely appointed bike.
IMO, if your bike did not have the correct TOR tune loaded, you would probably be commenting on the deceleration backfires, instead of enjoying the burbles.

Where are you located?
Yes if you didnt have the right tune in it would probably be backfiring and popping instead of the nice hollow burrbles.
