2000 Sprint ST exhaust opinions wanted...

Just sold my zrx and picked up an 00 Sprint...Love it! Anyway, I need more sound..I read a lot of mixed opinions, but would like some dedicated to this gen Triumph..I would prefer too loud to too quiet, if that helps.....I have found these three so far....D&D, Two Bros, and "Viper", which I have never heard of. The Vipers seem the least expensive on ebay....Which way should I lean here? Thanks, and sorry to beat a dead horse!

HI hillbillypimpin,
All new members are requested to the the stickies at the top regarding new members and the AUP.

As far as cans, I have seen many dyno runs with different cans and what happens with these is you can end up with noise but no power or in a lot of cases power loss even after proper remapping.

Wolf makes a can and a two barrel underseat which is bitchen, of the ones you mentioned I'd leave Viper alone.

Don

The Wolf underseat is way cool, but a bit pricey.

I know nothing about Vipers.

The D&D pipes have a rep for being way too loud.

The Two Brothers carbon can on my ride looks & sounds great to me, though it's still a touch louder than I like. (It tends to make car alarms chirp, but not actually go off, when I gun it.)

Cheers, HTH,
-Kit

The Trident under the seat exhaust is nice, but for sound I love my Staintune. Nice deep rumble with it. And it is a quality built product. Jeff

I have a D&D on my '02-ST. Its LOUD!!, but I installed a baffle (of some extent, lifted from an old pair of shovel-head drag pipes!) & its reasonable quieter yet I can still hear it while riding. Without the baffle it sounds good, but was a bit too loud in the upper RPM's.

Welcome

Hi and welcome hillbillypimpin.

Triumph made both a carbon Fibre and a Stainless Steel race can for these bikes.

I have both pics in my albums I currently ride with the SS race can.

The Triumph cans make a nice note and add a little zing.

I have an '00 Sprint ST and just put a Two Bros on it this week. I need to get it mapped soon but I like the sound and can feel a few extra ponies there. I'm sure it's much quieter than the D&D and since my Triumph dealer couldn't find any TOR for me this worked nicely. It is fairly loud and I've heard the TOR and it's louder than that, but I like it. I'd have bought a TOR if I could have found one. They still have the Two Bros available for this bike if you want one.

Wasn't Wolf discontinuing their exhaust for our generation??? I could be wrong here.

If I am wrong, GO FOR WOLF"S !!!!! Show off that beautiful SSSA.

I have the Two Brothers c-series aluminum can.
I love the sound, for me it's just right.

I bought the Alum can too. Couldn't justify the extra $100 for the carbon. Looks great on the black Sprint and can't beat the sound. Performance seems enhanced too but I'll have to wait til I get it mapped to know for sure.
