Fuel injected blues
I know the 00' RS isnt the smoothest when it comes to the fuel injection system but now at 16,000 miles the injection nuissance below 3000 rpm has degraded to the point that my fuel econ is suffering and I'm having stumbling issues up to 4,500 rpm.
This has slowly crept up on me and it has died on me 3 times trying to pull away from a stoplight. Now I have to rev the old girl pretty good to pull away without a low rpm stall.
Last thing I want to do is take it to my dealer because they are such a ripoff. I will start "Seafoam" treatments next week. But it may just be that the injectors need to be properly cleaned.
Any of you gearheads have a 955 with this problem?
Suggestions?

When was the last time you had her in for a servicing? T/B synced. mapped, etc.
I don't think seafoam will help in this situation. If it was that you would be experiencing this through the range. It won't hurt anything but I don't think it will help.

One service call and that was to flush and refill the colant for 265.00. Thats why I havent been back.
I have had 2 conversations with the triumph tech about mapping and he suggested leaving it alone. He also recommended leaving on the standard can because of "remapping issues". Jeez.
I bought it used and dont have a "service" or "owners" manual for this bike. That is something I should have sourced a long time ago......my bad.
Having said that, this wouldn't be the place I would want my bike serviced.
These guys are turds.
I'll have yet to find a technician that speaks Hinckley fluently if you know what I mean.

Could be something as simple as worn plugs, or the dreaded corrosion/water down the plug recess ..

When did you do the air filter? Fresh plugs, fresh filter and you shouldnt have these issues.
To bad you dont have a tuneboy that would tell you right off away. I would follow Dolsons recommendations and look at the Throttle bodies for balance.
These bikes arent great below 3500 rpm at the best of days. Any one of those things not right and I can see real potential for porblems.
You may also have gummy injectors but that is a long shot at 16K.
I hate seafoam personally. I rank it up there with Armor All and WD40. Its just my opinion but I really dont like it. I have seen it do just as many bad things as good things......

Having a dodgy dealer is really going to put you in a tough spot. Changing the coolant should not have cost you $265 of your hard earned dollars. That must be some coolant they used! I wouldnt give them any more money either.
As for the problems you describe, it sounds to me like the bike just needs a proper service. Reload the tune, new plugs, throttle sync, clean/new filter etc. Checking the valve clearances wouldnt hurt either, if its never been done. The other thing that can effect idling is the stepper motor getting gunked up. This one has popped up a few times.
Its easy for people like me to say this from a distance, I know, but anything you do will just have you chasing your tail and getting frustrated.
Your best bet and indeed the only thing that will solve the issues you're having is to find a way to get the bike serviced and tuned properly.
Best of luck!
Brett.

In addition to all these good comments, when is the last time you replaced the fuel filter?
Before taking it to the dealer, check and replace/ clean if needed:
Plugs
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Also check the throttle body butterfly valves are free/ clean.
But I strongly agree with the suggestion to have the tune updated and dialed in. My bike was running terribly at idle and off idle, including some stalling. I did all the maintenance I could think of.. even ran some various fuel cleaners through the tank. These tune up items helped a lot, but not enough. A new tune did the trick.
Might be worth riding to the next dealer in your region.

Running poorly
Blewbayou, with only 16,000 miles on the bike it’s though to believe it is an injector problem, but anything is possible. You are getting some sound advice from everyone that has replied to your post as well. Just one question, when you pulled your plugs how did they look, were they nice and brown, black and sooty or wet and loaded with carbon?
Beach, a 675 scrambler, this you have to post pictures of.
