Exclamation Scammer WARNING from right here!

As many of you know I'm looking to sell my Sprint (shameless plug - please see classifieds - it's a like new 2008) and yesterday I had someone contact me on the ad that's located here.

The scammer wanted to send me a check and send someone around to pick up the bike. Yea, right.

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I sold an Aprilia years ago. Funny thing is that the stupid scammers kept emailing me from different addresses for about four years after it was gone!

So please be careful folks.

FWIW - this person used a Yahoo account to email me.

Cheers all.

Also watch for fake cashiers checks! You think they are like cash, but think again. Years back my cousin got scammed with one...by the time the bank alerted her, the vehicle was already gone.

I was scammed on ebay a few years back. They sent money into my paypal account...and then I shipped the item out only to be alerted by paypal that the credit card they used was stolen. It sucks that you can trust some people. I would want cash in hand or wait until the check clears before releasing the bike.

Don't you guys in the U.S. have direct debit internet banking?

No scam, no fuss. and you know that the money is there - then you can let them have your bike.

If I am selling something, I don't even let people come to the house unless I've screened them pretty good. I'll meet them elsewhere or do the transaction at my worksite if possible. Unless of course they seem legit.
