Hello everyone!

I wanted to get some opinions from any Sprint riders about after-market manuals vs Triumph's manual for my '00 RS. My new-to-me Sprint needs some tuning work, and since the dealer I talked to was more than reluctant to give me an idea about the cost for an over-haul/ tune I'd just as soon dive in on my own. Intuition tells me to go with the Triumph....

Thanks for any and all help!

Haynes makes a pretty comprehensive book for tearing apart most any part of the bike.

I picked one up on ebay for $25.

BTW, the book covers 955i sprints, tigers, daytonas, and s3's :-D

I bought the Triumph manual, in my opinion you cannot go wrong. I especially like the fold out color wiring diagrams. I have used Haynes in the past and have found them to be OK too and much cheaper. Hermy's has factory manuals for around $85.

Hey unummyu! If you're out there....

How much did you pay for your Triumph manual? The dealer I talked to wants $105 -- which sounds reasonable to me only because I've never bought a factory publication before.

Any opinions are welcome.

FWIW,

I paid around 90 for the Triumph manual at my dealer. I also bought the Haynes manual through someone advertising here- I don't remember who or how much it was, though.

The Haynes manual was thorough enough until I had electrical problems. The wiring diagrams in the Triumph manual are worth every cent of the price difference.

Thanks City,

Sounds like the slightly higher price is justified. And since I I'd like to have my RS around for quite a while, the investment should pay for itself at some point.

Out of all the bikes I've been on, my RS is top 'o the heap -- and I haven't even ridden it with a properly tuned engine yet.
