Okay, not having the manual, I figured how hard can it be....

Replacing the pads on my ST, have the top "hat" bolt off, have both through bolts out, but still the caliper won't come off. There is a post at bottom, between the pistons that won't allow clearance to pull the calipers free from the rotor.

What now? This post has a nut at its base, am I supposed to undo this little guy?

Thanks,
Daniel

I just did this on an 02, hope there isn't much difference. There are two bolts that hold the caliper on and two socket head retainer pins that keep the pads in place. I have a the Triumph hugger which becomes part of the chaingard that needs to have the screws removed to make things easier. Don't have to remove it, just get it out of the way. Also take anything that binds the brakeline which in my case was a plastic cover in the chaingard. I loosen the retainer pins then take the bolts that hold the caliper on out. At that point it comes right up. Unscrew the pins with my fingers and out come the pads.

I think there is a bit of chinese puzzle work to get it to move it about. The key for me was just getting the chaingard off so the brakeline was free to move. I've heard a couple guys talk about taking off the tire, that was not necessary for me.

Hope this helps.

Yup, that did it. I was just not expecting to pull it from its mounting brackets. Was easier than I expected.

Thanks RB :-D
