Can somebody verify I just bought a TOR and not a stock can?

Missed out on a $150 TOR CF can this morning to a "buy it now" while waiting for the seller to verify that he'd ship to Canuckistan.

As a consolation prize (and cheaper!) I found this in an Ebay store:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=280233119869

Now, I'm hoping somebody didn't tack a Triumph plate on a stock can, and that it is indeed a TOR.

Any stainless TOR owners want to chime in? I've already paid for the item via Paypal.

Here's a copy of the picture:

According to the item description it's a stock can.

The only difference between the stocker and the TOR is a little more noise and performance.

Also the TOR can will have "Not For Road Use" on it somewhere.

The Triumph badge does not in itself denote the TOR can.

I have the " original " TOR and tune on my 02 ST. Cant comment too much about additional performance ( they say it gives you about 8 more HP ) but it does sound like a bike with attitiude.

Anyways - the add says " stock ", why not ctc the guy and ask..

I'm looking for a bit more attitude, and a little extra performance out of the weaker 1st gen 955 can't hurt either.

Seller is a motorcycle salvage yard, and I don't want to clue them in that it might be a more expensive and actually desirable part.

I'm pretty sure at this point it's a TOR, I've never seen a stock can on a 955 ST with the riveted-on Triumph plate.

All of the S/S cans that I have seen with the Triumph on the side have been a TOR can. Whilst it doesn't "definately" denote that it is a TOR, I think that it is a fairly safe bet that it is.

Croak that is NOT a stock can that is the Triumph Stainless Steel race can.

This is mine on my '04 with Daytona hub nut cover and POwer bronze hugger.

And a brand new tyre with 5kms on it.

That is a Triumph SS race can!

Sweet!

Looking forward to a little more fruit. I thought I would be content with the stock exhaust, but at anything over 80kph with earplugs in, I have a hard time actually hearing the motor, and even lower than that it's pretty darn subdued.

Besides, BakWheelTango embarrased me in the parkade last month. We were leaving work at the same time, me ahead of him, and that sweet exhaust on his 1050 just shamed me. Cheeky bugger even had to rub it in, revving it while we were waiting for the gate to open.

Croak if you have not done so already have the latest off road tune uploaded or you will be running way too lean.

I've already scheduled service appointment to have the throttle bodies synced on August 1st, reckon I can save a bit on the labour charge by having the TOR tune flashed at the same time.

Otherwise they charge 1/2 hour labour charge for a flash.

If the exhaust isn't here by then, I should be fine with the offroad flash, just run a bit on the rich side in the meantime.

...sorry, could not resist.

I had the TOR tune a week before I fitted my IXILs. As others have commented, the bike improves with the richer mix, so it is no prblem at all if you end up with a delay in fitting the new pipe.

have fun!
