Tuneboy user survey?

Curious who is using this for what.
Loading canned or modified tune and on what?

I'll start:

'07 Sprint
TOR
K&N until I pick up another OEM
Trimmed intake snorkel & resonator snout. (probably does nothing)

20130 base tune
Much timing added below 10% throttle.
Small amout of fuel pulled, small timing added on top. (based on tune of similar machine by well known albeit nameless individual)
Cruise & idle up to 13.8:1 from 14.4 in 20130
small timing added at midrange.

Notice stronger bottom end & better MPG.
Works well on street, need to hit the dyno.

I purchased Tune Boy mainly for being able to balance the throttle bodies, the idle stepper motor , etc. as well as check for trouble codes. It has allowed me to do the scheduled maintence without the hassle of taking the bike to the dealer and waitnig a week or two to get it back. I also really enjoy working on my own motorcycle.

I have not yet used the tune/edit feature, I do not know enough yet to try to make a custum map. My bike is already plenty fast and runs good but more fuel mileage and more useable power would always be welcome. I just had wrist surgery so now I should have plenty of time to research custom tunes.

I have aslo used my Tune Boy to retrieve trouble codes on two of my friends motorcyles.

I hope some day they will add a feature to Tune Boy so you can use it like the factory gameboy computer to properly bleed the ABS brake system.

With help from Pinballer I'm using the tuneboy to fix some clunky throttle action on my 04 Daytona 955i. We both are using the MassiveMidrange tune with aftermarket exhaust. The differece is very noticable with the new tune but I found the biggest difference came from setting the TPS. The tuneboy helped with that too.

Got mine to troubleshoot a blubber at idle, and it's bad habit of dying randomly.
Both of which were corrected, don't remember what tune I used

01 RS (used to look like a big banana.. so I painted it black!)

2005 ST w/Two Bros exhaust

I do all my maintenance and repairs using tuneboy.

write my own maps with tune edit.

Plan to get a WBo2 sensor and use tune analyzer to tweak A/F ratios.

TuneBoy and other mods have transformed the bike

LOVE IT, Don't know what I'd do without it!

2005 ST with IXIL exhaust.
I use my tuneboy for tunes primarily but will also use it for any sensor work and trouble shooting as the need appears. I really need to do a custom map for the IXILs as the TOR is a bit rich.

2006 with Trident - Dyno needed

My experience mirrors a lot of the above. k&N and trimmed airbox.

I got TB to fix the way lean throttle esp at low openings after fitting the slip on's. I found the midrange throttle response and fuelling poor with the stock cans and terrible with the trident.
Added fuel to the middle and lower part of the map and 2-3 degrees of timing from the middle up . also flattened the dips. it incidentally deepened the exhaust sound from a very dry lean note to a notably deeper one.

Now have vastly better part throttle response and mid range. Moved the rev limit up to 11 which helps when chasing the R1's .

I made my own map after being quite dissatisfied with the online ones.

Tune boy is also very useful for the maintenance including the throttle balancing.

I am interested in finding a tune boy literate Dyno shop though. the PC emulator doesn't seen very intuitive and most of the PC shops aren't used to fiddling with the timing.

I use the tune boy to diagnose EFI problems, monitor the engine for maintainence, and write custom tunes.

Calliway,
It not that the TOR tune is too rich for the IXIL's. The timing is map is too conservitive. Shoot me a email and I'll send you a few tunes to try.
