K&N
Just fitted a K&N filter to my ST1050 to compliment the TBR can and Triumph race tune. I wasn't expecting it to run any better! Actually i thought it might run worse(too lean), but give it a go anyway!
Well it is now seriously crisp off the bottom end and flies through the rev range, so much so that i hit the limiter accidentally for the first time today.
Must be the cheapest performance aid out there!

Hi Nick,
no the 18 tooth front sprocket is the cheapest performance mod.
I run a Triumph SS race can and a K&N filter and off road tune on my '04 Sprint, there is a performance gain with the free flowing filter when used with a free flowing exhaust of that there is no doubt.
And there should be, the engine is breathing more freely as it is getting much more air (and dirt) in and is getting the exhaust out more efficiently so will therefore perform better with the right tune loaded.

Dave, don't you want to steer him to look at OnD's recent thread on this? Almost as good as an oil thread. We're do for some more popcorn and beer.
BTW, you'd like to know that in the ER last night Australians were characterized as 'they drink big beers'. : :

Good to hear you are happy with the mods and the associated performance. :
Make sure you service the K&N filter at least every 10,000km or the performance will drop off and the fuel economy will go down the gurgler.

We'd all be interested in seeing the dyno numbers showing the difference before and after installation. Corrected of course. Drag strip numbers would work for me also.
After my own K&N experience I think I would do OnD's magnet thing on the oil filter if I were to go back to K&N which I'm not.
