triumph seats

Hi all
Does anyone out there know if the '08 ST1050 seat (looks roomier with less incline) will fit a '06 ST1050. I am fed up with sitting on my nuts!!!

Can't say for sure but I imagine it would. I doubt Triumph modified the frame between 06 and 07 when they changed the seat. It does look more comfortable.

I read (on this board, in a different thread ) that the part number for the '08 gel seat is different from '07 and earlier due to a change in the front of the seat for '08. Something to do with the new bikes having a metal tank.

same

the seats are the same only the foam they use is different and the new ones dont have any stiching in them i know cause i pull them apart alot, try this put some magic grip stuff over the seat it will stop you moving around on it,i use it on the back when i have a pillion (which isnt that often) feels like a parrot on your back to me .try it you might like it, the magic grip that is ,you should get it at any place like a boat supplier they use it on the dashboards of boats to stop your phone sliding about.

Here's a link to a post in another T site (that's nowhere near as entertaining, helpful or as popular as here) that might help you

Hi Nick, I can answer your question NO, because I have bought an 08, and still have my 05, just
tried it out tonight, the front tag of the 08 seat is different to the 05, maybe if you
modified the seat (like cut the tag to fit under the lip of the tank MAYBE???).

The rest of the seat is the same.

Cheers Barry

That's what I thought originally but apparently that is not the case. The 08 seats are not compatible with the 05-07. I almost ordered the wrong seat last week.

I wish they made one that didnt make my butt so sore. I did 2 1000kms days in the last 5 and I felt like I went to a Chinese torture chamber and had my butt worked over.

They make a tall seat for the Tiger and I sure wish they would do that for the tall guys like myself, for the Sprint. I would get the tall seat, the tall handlebars and Aero Screen. I really rested the limits of my butt this weekend.

The short jaunts were awesome and the bike performed beyond my expectations but anything over 300kms and my was at my comfort limit.
