Removing the wheels and online tires

In the event I buy my own tires, how do you guys get both wheels off? Do you need a front stand or can you just put some wieght on the sub frame to elevate the front? Also, while there was some good info posted on removing the rear tire I didnt see much about the front. Is there any consolidated guide to removing the tires for simpletons like me? Or am I doomed to pay the shop labor?

I am shocked that the local triumph dealer wants $440 for a set of Pilot Road 2ct's NOT MOUNTED. I know someone on here posted links to some great places but they only seemed to have the powers I am having trouble finding the roads anywhere, is it because they are so new?

I had a little difficulty using a front stand because it appeared it would lift the front too high while the bike was on the centerstand.

I have a heavy warehouse rack in my garage with the slots in the posts so I backed the bike close to the rack and pulled the back down using ratchet straps tied to the grab rail and the rack at the floor level. So the bike was balanced on the centerstand with just enough tension to lift the front wheel off the floor. As for the front wheel removal, I think there's a post on here somewhere.

I buy all my tires online and have a local independent sportbike shop mount / balance them.

Easy peasy.

Look around and make some calls.

Hey there Hatchetman.

Where in NH are you located? I picked up a set of Conti RoadAttacks at Naults in Wndham for $310. It was another $120 to have them installed and the Conti's are excellent rubbers. I was later told by one of the guys I ride with that he got his Conti RA set installed for $315 (that includes tires, removal old tires from bike, install new rubbers, balance, and remount on the bike) I was shocked!!! He said he had it done at Plaistow Power Sports on Rt. 125. I haven't confirmed their prices but it might be worth a look.

I'm not sure how the Conti's compare to the Pilot Road 2CT's but they handle alot better than the BT020's that came stock and the Diablo's that I tried. I currently have over 6,000 miles on the current set and they still have a ton of life left on them. These are my third set and really changed the ride and handling of the Sprint for the better.

Peace,
Falcon

I haven't heard of the PR2ct? Maybe they are too new. Or do you mean PR2? A Pilot Road 2ct does not seem to be in the Michelin catalog:http://www.michelinmotorcycle.com/in...recatalog.view
Anyway, look at :

Looky here:

2ct refers to the technology used on the new Pilot Road 2 which has been around a bit more than a year now maybe 18 months or linger even.

It's all in the tyre sticky.

I don't bother. My dealer sells me tires at or less than internet prices and the M&B is included.
Surprising things happen when you support your dealer.
