This has been discussed previously. I have not tested a search for it, but I think a search for 'Heineken' might find it.
Thanks for clearing that up. CATs and pre-CATS, no wonder they put off so much heat.

new bike

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new bike. I live in Texas and this has been a hot summer already and in stop and go traffic it does get a little warm but still okay if dressed properly. I did put in some heat shield material under the seat and seemed to help. On the weekends when we ride it is no problem but we also don't ride in traffic and always moving at a good pace.

Hot Sprint!

I've found as daveb from Jo'burg that initially it seemed hot but that after the running in period it seemed to improve. However they do seem to use a little oil during the running in period though this does seem to stop after about 1k miles/first service. Also you're going a bit faster after the run in and get more air flowing around you. As to the seat have found it to be very comfy but if you have a problem try a gel pad - I have one on my bicycle seat (otherwise like sitting on a razor blade!) and it seems to work. Hope this helps.

Good luck & enjoy the ride.

Welcome!

I like how you connected the two words ST and owner, when I read it, I read Stowner

I'm gonna start calling my fellow ST Owners, STowner's...

Thats a good name for a riding group or club... STowners LOL

well got back home and this morning ran some errands put about another 70 miles on the bike and this time I was saying to myself "Where is the Heat". Still warm but not like the first day.

I guess when I was bringing the bike home from the dealer they had left it outside until i could finish the paperwork, also I really feal the breakin of the motor helps the heat as well, but the biggest fator today was I was not riding at 3pm when the heat outside is in full force.

Well anyway thanks for everyones comments and suggestions or just plain ol' moral support.

The only other thing I am thinking about is the GenMar risers but I think my muscles will get used to riding box stock for now. I will give it a month or two.

1 More thing to keep in mind is that after your run in period, the bike tends to cool down, because the CAT's are fully broken in.

Just like the tranny gets smoother with time and mileage so does the heat, it goes down a bit after the engine is fully run in.

You could always go Trident if you're really not liking the heat NO cats in them so there's much less heat.
