The Sydney Ratbags club organised a Fish and Chips (Chups - NZ translation) Run yesterday to Pelican's Point on the Central Coast of NSW. There were over 100 bikes there with about 95% of them Triumphs. As always, there were a lot of beautiful bikes there who always put mine to shame but it was great to catch up with a fantastic bunch of people who really love their Triumphs.
It was a beautiful sunny Winter's day (21C/70F) but the ride down however, was spoilt it for me and a fab Thruxton by a Highway Patrol car who got between me and the Thruxton and tailed us for 20 minutes while everyone, oblivious to the revenue raisers, took off. I guess that's the price you pay for being tail-end Charlie. He seemed awfully interested in the tune the modded up Thruxton's exhaust was playing!
By the time the cop decide that no joy was to be found with us and tuned off, I ended up losing everyone. I had to abandon a great ride on the Old Highway and take the freeway to make up time but I did have the company for the rest of the journey with a lovely lady on a Bonnie that I happen to catch up to. I don't think she saw me hauling her in and sitting on her 6. For a while, I'm sure she was probably wondering what I was playing at.
Here are a few snaps of the day.
